The Tree~the "real" kind!

Every year since I can remember we have always gone to the mountains to cut down our tree.
These "fresh" trees aren't like the ones you typically see at the tree lots are even on the tree farms. Some think that they are funny looking or even ugly, but to us it's the only Christmas tree we have known.
My husband and brother with the 2009 trees!

Playing in the snow

What a beautiful day!

The Tree in all her GLORY!

I highly recommend starting a new family tradition of going to the mountains and cutting down your own Christmas tree.
Hope your enjoying the Holiday Season!

Target Love~storage ottomans

If you haven't looked at Target lately you are missing out...duh!

I have been searching for something new to put in front of our leather sectional. I knew I didn't want more leather or a table, but we needed something. A place to set our drinks, place our feet and maybe even give a little extra storage. And with a toddler and one on the way I didn't want to invest a ton of $$$ and have my kids destroy it.

And then one day I came across these...

How could I go wrong with $39 each and storage too!

I had to finally step away from the computer because Target has so many storage ottomans in a wide variety of styles and colors for a steal!

This Chocolate stripe Dwell cube is $159.00. How can you beat that!
I love this orange and cream one for $199.00, too bad it doesn't match my style.

This is the one I got and for the price I paid I won't feel bad when I want something new in 6 months ;)
This pewter grey one is so chic and only $219
Have you looked at Target lately? You may be pleasantly surprised!

Trimming the Windows

Since you see my kitchen window right when you walk into my front door I decided it need to get dressed up for the Holidays too!
I found these glitzy ornaments at Michel's for cheap!

And the angel above the window I found at the Goodwill for $1.99!

And I love the way the holly looks in these antique bottles...reminds me of an old-fashioned Christmas.

I am just about finished trimming the house...it only took me 2 weeks (life with a toddler)!
Tis the Season!

Christmas Wreath~re-vamp!

I bought this basic wreath from a fundraiser at my daughters pre-school (see below). It was fine as-is, but it was missing something...
I didn't want anything over the top (my home is more comfy-cozy than fancy and sparkle). I found some ribbon and made a bow...every wreath needs a bow! And then added more pine-cones, but these had a little bit of glitter on the tips. It was looking better, but was still not quite there.
I went digging around in my Christmas boxes and found one of my favorite Wendy Addison ornaments to hang in the center.
I think it turned out pretty good for a 5 minute wreath re-vamp!
What do you think?
